Wild Seeds Academy | Summer Workshops
Weekly Youth Art Workshops
July through September, Wild Seeds Academy opens its doors to the next generation of creators. Hosted within the quiet sanctuary of the Headwaters Studio, located inside Terrible Mountain Gallery, these free weekly workshops provide children with the space, materials, and guidance to explore their inner landscape through art.
Our philosophy prioritizes raw creativity over rigid technique. We do not teach children how to replicate; we guide them to discover their own visual language.
Time & Place
Workshops are held every Tuesday | July - September | 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm inside Headwaters Studio at Terrible Mountain Gallery @ 409 Main Street, Pitkin, Colorado 81241
Duration
Each workshop is a dedicated two-hour session of focused creation.
All Materials Provided
There is no financial barrier to entry. Every brush, tool, and piece of medium required to complete the class is provided entirely for free.
Immediate Tangibility
Art is a process, but it is also an artifact of a child's focus. Children will walk out of the studio with a finished piece of art to take home the very same day.
The Culmination
In the final weekend of September, the studio walls will give way to a formal exhibition. Every child will have the opportunity to hang their work in a gallery exhibit, honoring their commitment and bringing their artistic journey full circle.
Our Shared Commitment
Wild Seeds Academy runs entirely on the goodwill and dedication of our community. Our classes are led by volunteer Creative Guides who donate their time and knowledge to foster these young minds. Because this is a space of mutual responsibility, we ask parents and guardians to respect the following guidelines:
First-Class Accompaniment
A parent or guardian must remain with their child for the entirety of their first class. This ensures the child feels secure in the new studio environment and allows the parent to understand the rhythm of our space.
A Community Space, Not a Drop-Off
These workshops are an investment in your child's creative growth, not a daycare or drop-off service. We ask that parents remain engaged, local, and mindful of the 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM timeframe. Our volunteers are here to guide art, and we all share the responsibility of keeping this program sustainable.
Supporting the Future
While these workshops are entirely free, donations are always welcome. Every contribution goes directly toward purchasing materials and ensuring the academy remains accessible, allowing us to extend this creative freedom to another child in the future.
